Andrew McCarthy will join the judges panel for The 4th Annual Battle of the Bards, which will take place at 6pm on Friday, February 20 at the Canal Room. All proceeds from the event will benefit Partial Comfort Productions.

On that evening, seven local theater companies — Naked Angels, Ma-Yi, Youngblood, The Fire Department, Electric Pear, Flux, and Partial Comfort — will each premiere a new one act play that they’ve created over the past two weeks. Each play must include a prop that has been personally selected by actor William H. Macy, who is currently starring on Broadway in Speed-the-Plow. In addition to an audience favorite, a winning play will be selected by a panel of judges.

In addition to McCarthy, previously announced judges include actors Daniel Sunjata and John Slattery, playwrights David Auburn and Suzan-Lori Parks, casting director Marcia Debonis, and journalist David Cote.

Tickets to event are $15 for general admission and $75 for a VIP package.
