Skylark Opera Announces Fifth Annual Summer Festival

Skylark Opera has announced the productions planned for its fifth annual Summer Festival, which will take place June 8-17 at E.M. Pearson Theatre.

The festival’s offerings will include two great American works in repertory. Kristin Kenning will direct Victor Herbert’s operetta Mademoiselle Modiste, a love story about a feisty French hat seller and an aristocratic military officer. The cast will feature Jessica Fredrickson (Fifi), Robb Asklof (Etienne), Beth King, Carolyn Cavadini, Christopher Kehoe, Paul Hindemith, and Brad Benoit.

Skylark Opera will also present the Leonard Bernstein’s musical Wonderful Town, directed by Bob Neu. This story about two sisters from Ohio who set out to conquer New York City will feature Sarah Gibson (Ruth), Sarah Lawrence (Eileen), Gabe Preisser (Robert Baker), William Bryan (The Wreck), and Paul Coate (Frank Lippencott).
