Queen Latifah will star opposite rapper-turned-actor Common in Fox Searchlight's Just Wright, according to Variety. Sanaa Hamri will direct.
The film, which will feature a screenplay by Michael Elliot, involves a sports trainer who falls for a professional basketball player who she is helping to recover from an injury. The cast will also include Paula Patton.
Queen Latifah received an Oscar nomination for playing Mama Morton in the film version of Chicago and played Motormouth Maybelle in the film version of Hairspray. She also won a Golden Globe Award for her dramatic work in the television movie Life Support.
