Adapted from the book by Alice Walker, the musical features a book by Marsha Norman with music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray. It tells the unforgettable and inspiring story of a woman named Celie, who finds her unique voice in the world.

The cast will star Cesili Willimas as Celie, La Toya London as Shug, Michael A. Shepperd as Mister, Constance Jewell Lopez as Sofia, and Terrance Spencer as Harpo. Also featured will be Niketa Calame, Sixx Carter, Charls Sedgwick Hall, Kelly M. Jenrette, Corey Jones, Akula Lymon, Lorie V. Moore, Jacquelin L. Schofield, Na'Kia Bell Smith, Jonathan Thompkins, Janet Washington, and Brittney S. Wheeler.

The production will feature musical direction by Gregory Nabours, choreography by Janet Roston, sound design by Cricket S. Myers, scenic design by Stephen Gifford, costume design by Naila Aladin Sanders, wigs and make-up by Michael Leon, and lighting design by Tim Swiss.
