The Public Theater's production of Elevator Repair Service's The Sound and the Fury is currently in full swing, gearing up for opening night on May 21 in the Public's Martinson Theater. Directed by John Collins, the drama runs through June 27.

The Sound and the Fury is a staging of the first section of William Faulkner's famous novel of the same name. As with the 2012 production of Gatz, Elevator Repair Service has remained faithful to its source material, using Faulkner's own language rather than adapting it. With the help of split-screen staging, video-projected text, and a lush sound score, Elevator Repair Service pulls Faulkner's story off the page.

The ensemble cast features Daphne Gaines, Rosie Goldensohn, Mike Iveson, Vin Knight, Aaron Landsman, Randolph Curtis Rand, Greig Sargeant, Kaneza Schaal, Pete Simpson, Susie Sokol, Lucy Taylor, Tory Vazquez, and Ben Williams.

The Sound and the Fury marked the company's off-Broadway debut in 2008 at New York Theatre Workshop, and the production has since toured the U.S., Europe, and Australia. The production will mark the third collaboration between the Public and Elevator Repair Service, having previously presented Gatz and Arguendo.
