Varla Jean Merman to Star in The Medium

Varla Jean Merman will play the title role in a new production of Gian Carlo Menotti’s The Medium, which will play the Provincetown’s Art House Theatre, May 18-June 3, before an expected transfer in Fall 2012 to the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre in New York City. Donna Drake will direct the production, which feature music direction by Elizabeth Hastings.

Thee cast also includes Stefanie Izzo as Monica, Edmund Bagnell as Toby, Shannon Carson as Mrs. Gobineau, Peter Kendall Clark as Mr. Gobineau, and Maria Elena Armijo as Mrs. Nolan.

Merman — aka Jeffery Roberson — has starred in such stage projects as Lucky Guy, The Phantom of the OPRAH and The Divine Sister and appeared in such films as Varla Jean and the Mushroomheads.
