The Thursday, April 2 performance of Doctor Zhivago has been canceled due to the illness of leading man Tam Mutu. Performances will resume tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets for tonight's performance can be exchanged at point of purchase.

Though there is an understudy for Mutu's role, Doctor Zhivago, the show's minimal number of performances have not allowed time to prepare.

Doctor Zhivago, which began performances on March 27, plays at the Broadway Theatre, where it will celebrate its opening night on April 21. Tam Mutu and Kelli Barrett take on the romantic leading roles of Yurii Zhivago and Lara Guishar in the musical, which is directed by Des McAnuff and choreographed by Kelly Devine.

Doctor Zhivago is adapted from Boris Pasternak's novel of the same title by Michael Weller (book), Lucy Simon (music), and Michael Korie and Amy Powers (lyrics). Set amid World War I and the Russian Revolution, the musical tells the story of a political idealist who must choose between his devoted wife and his mysterious lover while competing for the latter's affection with revolutionaries and aristocrats to win her heart.
