The Body of an American to Receive Regional Premiere at Theater J

Dan O’Brien’s play comes to Washington, D.C.

Dan O'Brien's The Body of an American will have its regional premiere at Theater J on April 27 through May 22. José Carrasquillo will direct.

Winner of the 2014 Horton Foote Prize for Outstanding New American Play and the inaugural Edward M. Kennedy Award, The Body of an American tells the true story of an extraordinary friendship as two men, war photojournalist Paul Watson and playwright O'Brien, journey from some of the most dangerous places on earth to the depths of the human soul. It recently had its New York premiere at Primary Stages.

The two-character play will star Eric Hissom as Paul Watson and Thomas Keegan as Dan O’Brien. The artistic team includes production designer Marie Schneggenburger, lighting designer Dan Covey, projection designer Tim McLoraine, and sound designer Brendon Vierra.
