Theater J is located at 1529 16th St, NW in Washington, DC, 4 blocks east of Dupont Circle.


Directions


By Metro: Take the Red Line to Dupont Circle. Exit at Q Street (North Entrance to the Metro). Walk east, crossing over Connecticut Ave. The Center is located four blocks away, at the corner of 16th & Q Streets, NW.

Metro Shuttle Bus Service
Monday-Thursday, 6:30 - 10:30 pm

The free DCJCC shuttle service runs between the Q Street (north) entrance of the Dupont Circle Metro and the Center. The white van departs every 15 minutes, beginning at the metro. There is no shuttle service on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.

By Bus

The "S" series (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5) runs north and south along 16th Street. Bus #G2 originates in Georgetown and travels across P Street (1 block south of Q Street).

By Car:

From Virginia: GW Parkway or Route 66 to Roosevelt Bridge. Follow signs to E Street. Left at 18th Street (3rd stop light). Right on Q Street. Two blocks to 16th Street.

From Maryland: 1) Drive directly south on 16th Street; 2) Connecticut Ave south to Q Street, left on Q, four blocks to 16th Street; 3) Massachusetts Ave south, make a soft left turn onto Q Street.


Parking: $5 with validation at box office (2 blocks away at Colonial Parking; 1622 P St: Wed, Thurs, 6-10:30pm; Sat 6pm-12am; Sun 12-6pm); Valet parking droppoff at the DCJCC (Sat nights and Sun afternoons); Limited parking in DCJCC lot ($5 with validation); limited street parking; Commercial lot parking at New Hampshire & 19th St and Massachusetts & 18th St;

Theater J performs in the magnificently renovated 250-seat Cecile Goldman Theater. Theater J produces classic and contemporary plays and musicals that provoke and entertain, celebrating the vitality and intensity of the Jewish experience while addressing the pressing moral questions and shared concerns of the Washington community. In addition to three main stage productions, staged readings and special performances, Theater J sponsors acting and movement classes for beginning actors as well as the complete novice.
