The Baby-sitters Club: A New Musical, based on Ann M. Martin’s book series, will have its world premiere with Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles. Previews will begin on May 6, 2027, ahead of a May 16 opening.

Academy Award winner Natalie Portman’s production company MountainA will make its stage production debut as a producer on the show.

Featuring a book by Kate Wetherhead and music and lyrics by Mark Sonnenblick, who won a Grammy and Academy Award for KPop Demon Hunters, the musical finds Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey now 25 years old, as they return to Stoneybrook for an overdue reunion. Annie Tippe directs and choreographs.

Launched by Scholastic in 1986, The Baby-sitters Club by Ann M. Martin is one of the most successful children’s book series in publishing history, with more than 200 million books in print worldwide.
