Theatre Communications Group has published a movie tie-in edition of John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play Doubt, which is now available in bookstores and online.
The film version of the play, written for the screen and directed by Shanley, will be in movie theaters beginning this Friday, starring Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Viola Davis.
Doubt is set in a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, where a strong-minded woman wrestles with conscience and uncertainty as she is faced with concerns about one of her male colleagues. In addition to Doubt, TCG has also published Shanley’s Defiance and a collection of his work, Dirty Story and Other Plays.
