The winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama begins performances tonight.
The Flick starts its run at Steppenwolf Theatre tonight.
The show follows Sam, Rose, and Avery, three underpaid employees working at a run-down movie house called The Flick. As one of the last theaters in Massachusetts still projecting 35mm films, it gives Avery the opportunity to experience the art form he loves, even if it means sweeping up stale popcorn. As the three spend time together debating cinema, their bonds are tested by what it is they actually need from each other.
Written by Annie Baker and directed by Dexter Bullard, the cast features Will Allan, Danny McCarthy, Caroline Neff, and Travis Turner.
Performances will run through May 8.
