Sierra Boggess and Joshua Dela Cruz to Lead Reading of New Maltby & Shire Musical

Sierra Boggess and Joshua Dela Cruz will star in a pair of May 16 readings of Dancers at a Waterfall, a new musical by Richard Maltby Jr., David Shire, and Karen Hartman. The show is based on the novel Behind the Painting by Siburapha.
Directed by Tak Viravan with music direction by Brad Haak, Dancers at a Waterfall was previously titled Waterfall and Behind the Painting at various stages in its past developmental life. It was seen at the Pasadena Playhouse in 2015.
An epic love story that spans the turbulent years between 1933 and 1939 in Bangkok and Tokyo, the musical will feature Boggess and Dela Cruz, as well as Steven Eng, Ali Ewoldt, J. Elaine Marcos, Lisa Helmi Johanson, Thom Sesma, Katie Boren, Jordan De Leon, Emily Hsu, Leon Le, Orville Mendoza, Koh Mochizuki, and Riza Takahashi.
