Roman Polanski will direct the forthcoming French-language film adaptation of David Ives’ Tony Award-nominated play Venus in Fur, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which will be written by Ives and Polanski, will star Polanski’s wife Emmanuelle Seigner as a mysterious actress auditioning for a role in a new work by a controlling writer/director, to be played by Louis Garrel.
Filming will begin in Paris in November. The independent feature will be produced by Robert Benmussa and Alain Sarde.
