Daisy Foote’s play, Bhutan will make its West Coast premiere at the Rogue Machine Theatre in Los Angeles, October 16-November 22. Elina de Santos will direct.
According to press notes, Bhutan follows a New England family’s ups and downs after the death of their father. Frances Conroy wonders how she ended up here. Her mother is driving her crazy. Her aunt is stalking a married man. Her brother is in prison. She dreams of Bhutan but can barely find the kitchen door.
The cast features Tracie Lockwood (Sara Beachum), Marco Naggar (Warren Conroy), Ann Colby Stocking (Mary Conroy), and Tara Windley (Frances Conroy).
The design team includes Mark Guirguis (set design), Leigh Allen (lighting), Christopher Moscatiello (sound design).
Foote was honored with the Roger L. Stevens Incentive Award, in association with the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays, in cooperation with the President’s Committee for the Arts. Her plays include Living With Mary, God’s Pictures, Farley and Betsy and Darcy and Clara: The Hand of God.
