The Astoria Performing Arts Center has announced a one-week extension of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II's Allegro, which will now continue through May 24 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. The production features choreography by Christine O'Grady, musical direction by Julianne B. Merrill, and direction by Tom Wojtunik.

Allegro follows the journey of Joseph Taylor Jr., the son of a small-town doctor, from birth to age 35 — from the tranquility of his small Midwestern hometown to the hectic big-city life.

The production stars Mark Banik as Joseph Taylor Jr., Daniella Dalli as Marjorie Taylor, Marcie Henderson as Mrs. Lansdale, Crystal Kellogg as Jennie Brinker, Kelly King as Brook Lansdale, Andy Lebon as Dr. Joseph Taylor, Jean Liuzzi as Grandma Taylor, Christopher Milo as Young Joe, Manna Nichols as Emily West, Jan-Peter Pedross as Dr. Bigby Denby, Tony Perry as Ned Brinker, Fiona Shea as Young Jennie, and Joshua Stenseth as Charlie Townsend. Ensemble members include Laura Stracko Franks, Julia Freyer, Carl James, Matthew LaBanca, Alyssa Malgeri, Gilbert Sanchez, and Toni Elizabeth White. Julianne Katz will be assuming the role of Jennie Brinker, replacing Crystal Kellogg, May 22-May 24.

The production features scenic design by Stephen K. Dobay, costume design by Summer Lee Jack, and lighting design by Dan Jobbins. David A. Thomas is the sound designer, and Katie K. White is the props designer.
