Zegler won an Olivier and a WhatsOnStage Award for her peformance.

Jamie Lloyd’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita, which ran at the London Palladium from June-September 2025, will to transfer to Broadway in 2027.
Rachel Zegler once again stars in the title role, for which she earned an Olivier Award and a WhatsOnStage Award. She made her West End debut in the production, and returns to Broadway following her run in Romeo and Juliet at the Circle in the Square.
One of the West End production’s central staging elements saw Zegler sing “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” live from the Palladium’s exterior balcony to crowds gathered in the street below. In the transfer announcement, Lloyd has confirmed that he will reconfigure the moment for the Broadway run, which will not feature Zegler performing the number in public.
Further casting and additional information will be announced at a later date.
Update, May 26: Evita will play the Winter Garden Theatre beginning February 27, 2027, in advance of a March 25 opening.
Zegler will not play Eva on Tuesday April 13, 20, and 27; May 11 and 26; and June 22. Zegler will not appear during the June 2 and 9 Wednesday matinees. She will be away from the production August 9-15 and October 25-31.
