Broadway veterans Patti Murin and Andrew Rannells will star in Dallas Theater Center’s world premiere production of Douglas Carter Beane and Lewis Flinn’s musical Give It Up!, to run January 15-February 14 in the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Dan Knechtges will direct and choreograph the production, which will feature musical direction by Elaine Davidson.
The musical, which is based on Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, is set at Athens University, where head cheerleader Lysistrata Jones swears to hold out on “giving it up” until the school’s basketball team breaks a 30-year losing curse by winning a game.
The company features Katie Boren; Xavier Cano, Lindsay Nicole Chambers, Noemi Del Rio, Carla Duren, Curtis Holbrook, Justin Keyes, Telly Leung, Preston Sadleir, and Liz Mikel.
The design team includes Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), David C. Woolard (costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), and Tony Meola (sound design).
