Signature Theatre will present Dreamgirls, November 13-January 6 in the MAX Theatre. Matthew Gardiner will direct with music direction by John Kalbfleisch and choreography by Brianne Camp.
In Dreamgirls, a girl group from Chicago must fight for recognition, fellowship, and love in a business controlled by men. The musical features a book and lyrics by Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger.
The cast will be lead by Nova Y. Payton (Effie White) along with Shayla Simmons (Deena Jones) and Crystal Joy (Lorrell Robinson) and also features David Bazemore (C.C. White), Sydney James Harcourt (Curtis Taylor, Jr.), Cedric Neal (James “Thunder” Early), Kara-Tameika Watkins (Michelle Morris), Bus Howard (Marty), and Sean Maurice Lynch
(Wayne).
The design team will feature Adam Koch (set design), Chris Lee (lighting design), Frank Labovitz (costume design), and Matt Rowe (sound design).
