New Solo Shows by Dan Hoyle and Mike Albo Will Play Off-Broadway's Culture Project

Dan Hoyle's The Real Americans and Mike Albo's The Junket will transfer to off-Broadway's Lynn Redgrave Theatre beginning March 13 under the auspices of Culture Project. The productions, which will play in repertory, come to the theater at 45 Bleecker Street after runs at Joe's Pub and Dixon Place, respectively.

The Real Americans, written and performed by Hoyle, and developed with and directed by Charlie Varon, follows the author/performer's experiences living out of his van and sleeping in parking lots, sharing meals and food with cowboys and coalminers, and seeks to reconcile the divide between the two Americas in the age of economic inequality and polarized politics.

The Junket, directed by David Schweizer and featuring video effects by Larry Shea, explores what happens when a dream job — in this case, a freelance gig for the most influential newspaper in America — becomes a nightmare.

Culture Project is an organization dedicated to investigating social and political issues through theater, music, and film. The Real Americans and The Junket will run through April 20.
