"New Musicals Month" to Be Celebrated by National Alliance for Musical Theatre

The celebration leads up to NAMT’s 30th Annual Festival of New Musicals.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) will celebrate its 30th Annual Festival of New Musicals with a monthlong celebration in September.

Throughout the month, deemed "New Musicals Month," NAMT will feature over 40 new musicals on social media, highlighting new musical development from member organizations including Barrington Stage Company, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Penn State University, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Pittsburgh CLO, Prospect Theater Company, San Diego State University, and Transport Group, among others.

Associate members David Coffman, Kevin Purcell, Matt Schicker, and Phillip Stern will also have new musicals spotlighted, as will festival alumni Nell Benjamin, Paul Gordon, Adam Gwon, Sarah Hammond, Joe Iconis, Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, Bob Martin, Harrison David Rivers, and Dick Scanlan.

Additionally, on Monday, October 22, NAMT will hold a gala at Gustavino's to celebrate the festival's first 30 years.
