Michele Lee will play Mama in Roger Bean’s Summer of Love to run June 22 – July 16 at the Ogunquit Playhouse.
The show uses hits from artists such as The Mamas and the Papas, Sly & the Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, and Blood, Sweat & Tears to tell the story of a young woman in search of her own “Summer of Love.” Among the songs featured in the show are “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” “Get Together,” “Piece of My Heart,” “White Rabbit,” “Spinning Wheel,” and “Happy Together.” Additional casting will be announced shortly.
Lee’s Broadway credits include her Tony Award-nominated performances in Seesaw and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. She may be best known for her Emmy-nominated portrayal of Karen Mackenzie on Knots Landing.
