Stephanie Bissonnette — a dancer, choreographer, and teacher who made her Broadway debut in the cast of Mean Girls — has died at the age of 32. The Mean Girls Twitter account shared the sad news on the morning of December 18.

Bissonnette had been battling medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer most commonly found in young children, since 2019 while performing on Broadway in Mean Girls. She remained with the company until the COVID-19 Broadway shutdown and was subsequently featured in the documentary Ensemble, which followed Broadway dancers coping with the effects of the pandemic.

In addition to her time with Mean Girls, Bissonnette performed at the Muny, Riverside Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, and Seven Angels Theatre. She also performed with Royal Caribbean, and appeared in music videos including Keith Urban's "Never Comin' Down." She worked as a teacher at Broadway Dance Center, which she described as her second home in New York City.
