The new drama is directed by Trip Cullman.
MCC Theater has extended the New York premiere of Punk Rock, a new play by Simon Stephens, through December 17. The drama began performances at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on October 29 and opened November 17.
Trip Cullman directs the play, which takes place at an English private school where a group of 17-year-olds are contending with hormones and attitudes as they prepare for their mock A-Level exams.
The cast is made up of Douglas Smith, Pico Alexander, Lilly Englert, Lortel Award winner Annie Funke, David Greenspan, Colby Minifie, Will Pullen, Noah Robbins, and Sophie Shapiro. Featured on the creative team are Mark Wendland (scenic design), Clint Ramos (costume design), Japhy Weideman (lighting design), and Darron L. West (sound design).
Stephens is the author of Broadway's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, as well as the dramas Bluebird, Harper Regan, and Blindsided, among others.
