Marin Mazzie will join the West End company of Monty Python’s Spamalot in January as the Lady of the Lake, the role she is currently playing on Broadway, while Hannah Waddingham, who plays that role in the London production, will join the Broadway company on January 17.
Mazzie is a three-time Tony Award nominee for Kiss Me, Kate, in which she also starred on the West End, Ragtime, and Passion. Her many other stage credits include Man of La Mancha and Into the Woods on Broadway, the City Center Encores! productions of Kismet and Out of This World, and The Actors’ Fund of America’s benefit concert of On the Twentieth Century. Waddingham’s theater credits include Lautrec, Tonight’s the Night, The Beautiful Game, and Grease.
Monty Python’s Spamalot is directed by Mike Nichols, and features book and lyrics by Eric Idle and a score by Idle and John DuPrez. The show won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
