The West End production of Stomp will transfer to the Ambassadors Theatre on Wednesday, September 27, just four days after it finishes its five-year run at the Vaudeville Theatre.
The award-winning show transforms the junk and clutter of urban life into a source of rhythm and dance. In 100 minutes, a cast of eight performers use boots, dustbin lids, garbage, cigarette lighters, plumbers’ plungers, and everything including the kitchen sink to hammer out a symphony.
The production was first seen by English theatergoers in Brighton in 1991 and has previously played at the Roundhouse and Sadler’s Wells in London. The show’s still-running Off-Broadway production opened in February 1994 at the Orpheum Theater.
