Mint Theater Company announced the complete cast and creative team for the New York premiere of Phyl, a rarely seen comedy by pioneering British playwright and suffragist Cecily Hamilton. Directed by Britt Berke, the play runs October 3-November 7, with an opening night on October 22, at Theatre Row.
Phyl, which launches Mint Theater’s season exploring sex, love, and relationships, follows Phyllis Chester, a governess trapped in a solitary existence and walled off from the life she craves.
The cast features Lily Ganser, making her off-Broadway debut as Phyllis “Phyl” Chester, alongside Tessa Bilmes, Jennifer Blood, Curzon Dobell, Katie Firth, Livvy Marcus, Anthony Michael Martinez, Talia Sulla, and Charlotte Van Ledtje.
The creative team includes scenic designer Brittany Vasta, costume designer Alicia J. Austin, lighting designer Mary Louise Geiger, sound designer Jane Shaw, properties designer Chris Fields, and dramaturg and dialect designer Amy Stoller.
