Larry Gatlin, Anthony Dodge and Marcia Milgrom Dodge’s musical Quanah will receive a Pace New Musicals Program workshop production, running January 19-24 at the Schaeberle Studio. Amy Rogers will direct the workshop, which will feature musical direction by Robert Meffe.

The piece, with music and lyrics by Gatlin and book by Dodge, Gatlin and Milgrom Dodge, focuses on Quanah Parker and his mother, Cynthia Ann Parker, who was kidnapped as a girl and raised by the Comanche as one of their own. Casting for the workshop, which will feature 20 of Pace’s BFA musical theater students, will be announced at a later date.

Grammy Award winner Gatlin is perhaps best known for songs such as “Broken Lady,” “The Lady Takes The Cowboy Every Time,” and “All the Gold in California.” On stage, the singer has appeared in The Will Rogers Follies on Broadway and at theaters around the country. Milgrom Dodge is currently represented on Broadway with the revival of Ragtime.

Performances will be open to the public. For further information or reservations, call 212-346-1352 or email [email protected].
