Kenneth Branagh, Simon Cowell, Rebecca Hall, et al. Win BAFTA Awards

The winners of the 2010 BAFTA Awards, honoring excellence in British television, were announced last night at a gala held in the West End’s Palladium Theater.

Kenneth Branagh won the award in the Leading Actor competition for Wallander, while Julie Waters took the award for Leading Actress for Mo. Supporting Actor/Actress wins went to Matthew MacFadyen ( Criminal Justice) and Rebecca Hall (Red Riding 1974), respectively.

Other wins included Anthony McPartlin & Declan Donnelly in the Entertainment Performance category, Rebecca Front for Female Performance in a Comedy Role, Peter Capaldi for Male Performance in a Comedy Role, and Mad Men in the International Category.

In addition, Simon Cowell received a special award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry and for his development of new talent.
