This summer, Katey Sagal will star in the off-Broadway premiere of The Gospel According to Heather, a new musical from Jane Eyre and Daddy Long Legs writer Paul Gordon. Performances run June 14-July 9 at Theater 555.

Sagal is best known for her wide television resume, which includes the roles of Peggy Bundy on Married…With Children, Leela on Futurama, Gemma on Sons of Anarchy, and Louise in The Conners. This marks her off-Broadway musical debut.

In The Gospel According to Heather, Heather Krebs just wants a boyfriend. But how can she even navigate her way through high school if she might be the New Messiah? A small town in Ohio grapples with politics, religion and teenage romance in this eclectic pop musical. Sagal will be joined by Lauren Elder, Badia Farha, Maria Habeeb, Darron Hayes, Jeremy Kushnier, Maya Lagerstam, Wayne Wilson, and Brittany Nicole Williams. Understudies are Armando Gutierrez, Georgia Kate Haege, Sarita Amani Nash, and Zach Rand.

Rachel Klein directs and choreographs the production, with a creative team that includes Jonathan Bauerfeld (music direction), Jodie Moore (music supervision), Christopher and Justin Swader (set design), Jamie Roderick (lighting design), Sawaan Tiwari (costume design), Sean Hagerty (sound design), and Brendan McCann (props design). Amas Musical Theatre is the presenter.
