Judy Kaye Re-creates Her Star Turn in On the Twentieth Century

The two-time Tony winner returns to the music that made her a Broadway star.

In 1978, Judy Kaye got the break of a lifetime when she went from understudy to leading lady virtually overnight. The show? Cy Coleman's On the Twentieth Century. The role: Lily Garland, originally played by Madeline Kahn. Kaye will look back on her experience in the show in the revue Our Guy, Cy: The Songs of Cy Coleman, which plays Feinstein's/54 Below November 11-13. Here, she gives us a preview of the tune "Never", one of Coleman's songs that helped propel her into stardom.
