The Joffrey Ballet has announced its 2010-2011 Chicago season.
The company will open with a program that will run October 13-24 and include Christopher Wheeldon’s After the Rain and George Balanchine’s Stravinsky Violin Concerto, along with one additional work to be announced at a later date. Robert Joffrey’s staging of The Nutcracker (December 11-26) will be the company’s second offering.
In the new year, the Joffrey will revive John Cranko’s comic ballet The Taming of the Shrew (February 16-27, 2011) and offer a second mixed repertory program that will include world premieres from Edwaard Liang and Yuri Possokhov.
