New York City
Robert Creighton stars in the new musical at the Westside Theatre.
Off-Broadway's Cagney will welcome Jeremy Benton back to the Westside Theatre on January 11. Benton returns to the roles of Bob Hope (and others), having taken a temporary leave of absence to star in the national tour of Irving Berlin's White Christmas.
Featuring a book by Peter Colley (The Donnelly) and music and lyrics by Robert Creighton and Christopher McGovern (Fame), Cagney tells the story of legendary stage and screen star James Cagney, following the actor from his humble beginnings in New York City's Lower East Side through his rise as a vaudeville song-and-dance man to his superstardom in Hollywood.
The show is directed by Bill Castellino, with choreography by Joshua Bergasse. Benton re-joins Cagney company members featuring Creighton as the legendary James Cagney, with Danette Holden, Josh Walden, Ellen Zolezzi, and Bruce Sabath.
