Tony nominee Jennifer Simard will take over the role of Mildred Layton in 2026 Best Musical winner Schmigadoon! beginning Tuesday, September 8.
Simard replaces Ana Gasteyer, who departs the company on Sunday, September 6.
Most recently, Simard starred in Death Becomes Her for its whole run, and also received Tony nominations for her work in Company and Disaster!
Schmigadoon! won four Tony Awards: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Orchestrations. The production also received Outstanding New Musical honors from the Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards.
Based on the Apple TV+ series created by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, the Broadway musical is directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, with a book and score by Paul.
