Jeanine Tesori is now a two-time Tony Award winner, earning the award for Best Score alongside her Kimberly Akimbo collaborator David Lindsay-Abaire.

Tesori has been nominated for a total of six Tony Awards, receiving her first win in 2015 for her score for the Tony-winning musical Fun Home. Lindsay-Abaire takes home his first award for his lyrical contributions to the Kimberly Akimbo score. Lindsay-Abaire also earned a Tony for his book (making him a two-time winner). He has been nominated previously for his plays Good People and Rabbit Hole, as well as Shrek The Musical (Book and Score) — another collaboration with Tesori.

Based on David Lindsay-Abaire’s 2001 play about a young woman with a rare condition that causes her to appear much older, Kimberly Akimbo stars Tony Award winner Victoria Clark as Kimberly, Tony Award nominee Justin Cooley, Tony Award nominee Steven Boyer, Alli Mauzey, Tony nominee Bonnie Milligan, Olivia Elease Hardy, Fernell Hogan, Michael Iskander, and Nina White.

The musical is nominated for eight 2023 Tony Awards and is currently running at Broadway’s Booth Theatre.
