Moritz von Stuelpnagel directs the new play, which also features Dylan Baker and Jason Butler Harner.
Janet McTeer and the company of Theresa Rebeck's Bernhardt/Hamlet met the press at their rehearsal studio on August 8.
Rebeck's new play rollicks with high comedy and human drama set against the lavish Shakespearean production that could make or break Sarah Bernhardt's career.
McTeer stars as Sarah Bernhardt, alongside Constant Coquelin and Jason Butler Harner as Edmond Rostand, with Matthew Saldivar as Alphonse Mucha, Nick Westrate as Maurice, Paxton Whitehead as Louis, Ito Aghayere as Rosamond, Brittany Bradford as Lysette, Aaron Costa Ganis as Raoul, and Triney Sandoval as Francois.
The creative team includes Beowulf Boritt (set design), Toni-Leslie James (costume design), Bradley King (lighting design), and Fitz Patton (original music and sound design).
Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, the Roundabout Theatre Company Broadway production will begin preview performances on August 31 and open on September 25 for a limited run at the American Airlines Theatre.
