He could just be reading the script for fun…or could he…?
Diggs might have given away this top-secret news in a recent tweet, where he shows off his brand-new tattoo…and with a copy of the published Hedwig and the Angry Inch script readily visible:

Of course, Diggs could just be an ardent fan of Stephen Trask and John Cameron Mitchell's musical and just wanted to read the libretto, right? Nah. (It should also be noted that Diggs is one of the stars of Hurt Locker: The Musical, the fake Broadway musical that closes so Hedwig can play her one-night-only engagement at the Belasco Theatre.)
If Diggs does join Hedwig (presumably on July 22, since Darren Criss leaves July 19), it would be his first Broadway appearance since his late 2003-early 2004 stint as Fiyero in Wicked.
