Performances of A Guide for the Homesick begin tonight at Huntington Theatre Company.
Playwright Ken Urban's drama is described as follows: "On his way home after a year in East Africa, a young aid worker goes back to a shabby Amsterdam hotel room with a fellow American. The two strangers look for redemption from their pasts and confess their shared fear that they betrayed the people who needed them most."
McKinley Belcher III stars as Teddy/Nicholas opposite Samuel H. Levine as Jeremy/Ed. They are directed by Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking Dead).
The creative team includes William Boles (scenic design), Kara Harmon (costume design), Russell H. Champa (lighting design), and Lindsay Jones (original music and sound design). Jeremy Stoller serves as the productions dramaturg and Amy Stoller as the dialect coach. Adele Nadine Traub is the production stage manager and Jeremiah Mullane the assistant stage manager. Casting is by Alain Alldaffer.
