Hugh Jackman is in talks to star in a new film version of Homer's Odyssey from the team behind several of the Hunger Games movies, according to published reports.
The new version of The Odyssey will feature a script from Peter Craig (cowriter of the Hunger Games Mockingjay films) and direction by Francis Lawrence. Lionsgate will release the motion picture with Lionsgate producing. The Odyssey focuses on Odysseus and his journey home to his family after the fall of Troy.
Jackman was recently seen on Broadway in The River. He received a 2012 special Tony for his contributions to Broadway and appeared on the Great White Way in Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway, A Steady Rain, and The Boy From Oz, for which he won a Tony Award. His numerous film credits include the X-Men series and Les Misérables.
