
The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has announced its nominations for its annual TV awards. Honors will be presented in ceremonies held concurrently in New York and Los Angeles on February 20.
FOX’s hit series Glee, which features Broadway veterans Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele, picked up two WGA nominations: one for Comedy Series and one for New Series. Also nominated in this latter category is the Showtime series Nurse Jackie, which stars Edie Falco and CBS’ The Good Wife, which stars Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski and Chris Noth. Other nominated programs that regularly feature theater talent include AMC’s Mad Men, nominated for Drama Series and which includes among its stars Bryan Batt, Elizabeth Moss and Robert Morse; and NBC’s 30 Rock, nominated for Comedy Series and which features Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski.
Playwright Melanie Marnich received a nomination in the Episodic Drama category for her work on the “Come, Ye Saints” episode of HBO’s Big Love.
