Jordan Dean, Lance Coadie Williams, and Zoë Winters complete the cast for the Lincoln Center Theater production.
Lincoln Center Theater has announced full casting for its upcoming production of Shows for Days, a new play by Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane. The production will begin performances on June 6 and open on June 29 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Jerry Zaks directs.
Jordan Dean (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Lance Coadie Williams (Bootycandy), and Zoë Winters (LCT's 4000 Miles) will join previously announced cast members Patti LuPone, Dale Soules, and Michael Urie.
Shows for Days follows Car (Urie), a 14-year-old Reading, Pennsylvania native introduced to the world of theater at his local community theater, the Prometheus, an organization led by Irene (LuPone), a force of nature who directs, designs, and stars in every play. The play is described as author Douglas Carter Beane’s "fond remembrance of his immersion into a life in the theater."
The production will reunite Urie and LuPone for the first time after starring as son and mother on the ABC series Ugly Betty in 2007.
Shows for Days will have sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by William Ivey Long, lighting by Natasha Katz, and sound by Leon Rothenberg. Additional casting will be announced.
