Ambassador Theatre Group’s Emerson Colonial Theatre will reopen its doors beginning June 27.
Ambassador Theatre Group has released its first photos of the newly renovated Emerson Colonial Theatre, home to the upcoming Alex Timbers-directed production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Get a first look at the renovations before performances of Moulin Rouge! begin on June 27.
Aaron Tveit, Karen Olivo, and Danny Burstein lead the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical as Christian, Satine, and Harold Zidler, respectively. The company also includes Sahr Ngaujah (Toulouse-Lautrec), Tam Mutu (The Duke of Monroth), Ricky Rojas (Santiago), and Robyn Hurder (Nini).
Based on the 2001 Twentieth Century Fox motion picture by Baz Luhrmann, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is written by John Logan and features some of the most beloved popular music of the last 50 years. Justin Levine is the music supervisor, orchestrator, and arranger, and Matt Stine is the music producer.
Moulin Rouge! tells the story of a young poet and writer, Christian, who falls in love with the star of the Moulin Rouge, cabaret actor and courtesan Satine, using the musical setting of the Montmartre Quarter of Paris.
