The New York City Center Encores! production of this Lerner and Loewe classic begins performances today.
New York City Center has released images from the Encores! production of Lerner and Loewe's Paint Your Wagon, now running through March 22. The musical, which follows a dreaming gold prospector whose daughter finds gold — and love, stars Keith Carradine, Alexandra Socha, and Justin Guarini.
The original Broadway production of Paint Your Wagon opened at the Shubert Theatre on November 12, 1951, and ran for 289 performances.
The ensemble includes Jenni Barber, Robert Creighton, Caleb Damschroder, Justin Guarini, Nathaniel Hackmann, Robyn Hurder, Melissa van der Schyff, Scott Wakefield, and William Youmans, with Darien Crago, Steve Czarnecki, Nicolas Davila, Casey Garvin, Shonica Gooden, Timothy Hughes, Naomi Kakuk, Justin Keyes, Jenny Laroche, Melissa Hunter McCann, Harris Milgrim, Kevin Munhall, Kristin Piro, Robbie Roby, Jason Simon, Kevin Vortmann, Nicholas Ward, and Mikey Winslow.
Paint Your Wagon choreographed by Denis Jones with Rob Berman serving as music director. Marc Bruni directs the production, which features beloved Lerner and Loewe songs include "They Call the Wind Maria," "I Talk to the Trees," and "Wand'rin' Star."
