Unsung Bob Merrill will be the next addition to UnsungMusicalsCo.’s 54 Below concert series, featuring some of musical theater’s forgotten or overlooked treasures. The cabaret performance, set for August 5, will include selections from Merrill’s musical catalogue, ranging from signature pop standards, such as “Mambo Italiano,” to his award-winning Broadway musicals Carnival and Funny Girl.

In addition to three-time Tony nominee Marc Kudisch (9 to 5), who will serve as the evening’s host, the show will feature performances by Anastasia Barzee (Jekyll & Hyde), John Bolton (A Christmas Story), Bradley Dean (The Last Ship), Nick Gaswirth (A Christmas Story), Rebecca Faulkenberry (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark), Karen Mason (Mamma Mia!), Christine Pedi (Chicago), and Erin Davie (Grey Gardens), who has offered TheaterMania an exclusive first listen of the show.

The recording features Davie performing the title song from Merrill’s most notable flop, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, starring Mary Tyler Moore and Richard Chamberlain, which closed on Broadway in 1966 after only four preview performances. Take a listen to this sample from the infamous production’s rarely heard score.
