Eddie Izzard, Jerry O’Connell Set for NBC’s Munsters Reboot, Mockingbird Lane

Broadway veteran Jerry O’Connell will star as Herman Munster in NBC’s Mockingbird Lane, according to EW.com.

He joins the previously cast Eddie Izzard as the vampire Grandpa in this Munsters reboot.

O’Connell appeared on Broadway earlier this season in Seminar. He is best known for his work in film and television including Jerry Maguire, Stand By Me, The Defenders, and Crossing Jordan.

Izzard received a Tony Award nomination for the Roundabout Theatre’s revival of A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, and his other stage credits include Lenny, Race, and The Cryptogram. His many film and television credits include The Riches, The United States of Tara, Velvet Goldmine, Shadow of the Vampire, The Cat’s Meow, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Across the Universe. In 2010, Izzard’s documentary Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story received an Emmy Award nomination in the category of “Outstanding Nonfiction Special.”
