Dermot Mulroney will play the role of Steve in the film adaptation of Tracy Letts‘ Pulitzer Prize-winning play, August: Osage County, according to Deadline.com. John Wells will direct the film.
Mulroney joins a starry cast that also includes the previously reported actors Meryl Streep (Violet Weston), Julia Roberts ( Barbara Fordham), Abigail Breslin (Jean Fordham), and Margo Martindale (Mattie Fae Aiken), as well as Chris Cooper, Juliette Lewis, and Andrea Riseborough.
August: Osage County centers on a family whose lives have splintered until a crisis brings them back together in the clan’s home and its dysfunctional matriarch.
