Colman Domingo, Mary Beth Hurt, Judith Ivey, Michael Urie, et al. Win 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards

The 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards were handed out at Terminal 5 on Sunday, May 2. The ceremony was hosted by Bryan Batt and Bebe Neuwirth.

Awards were presented in 14 competitive categories. The Scottsboro Boys won for Outstanding Musical and Susan Stroman was named Outstanding Choreographer; Horton Foote’s The Orphans’ Home Cycle was named Outstanding Play; and the Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of The Glass Menagerie was named Outstanding Revival, with Judith Ivey, winning Outstanding Lead Actress. Colman Domingo took home the award for Outstanding Solo Show for A Boy and His Soul.

The Temperamentals‘ Michael Urie was named Outstanding Lead Actor; Mary Beth Hurt was named Outstanding Featured Actress for When the Rain Stops Falling; and Adam James won the award for Outstanding Featured Actor for The Pride.

In addition, producer Daryl Roth received the organization’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Lincoln Center Theater was honored for its Outstanding Body of Work.

The evening’s presenters included Justin Bartha, Saffron Burrows, Charles Busch, J. Bernard Calloway, Keith Carradine, Hugh Dancy, Michael Esper, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Montego Glover, Julie Halston, Melissa Joan Hart, Patrick Heusinger, Tom Jones, Zoe Kazan, Chad Kimball, Anthony LaPaglia, Anthony Mackie, Aasif Mandvi, Terrence Mann, Stephanie March, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Metcalf, Jennifer Morrison, Jack O’Brien, Lily Rabe, Monica Raymund, Jordan Roth, Ally Sheedy, Stask Sands, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Tamara Tunie, Michael Urie, and Kerry Washington

Saluting Off-Broadway were LaChanze, who sang “Waiting for Life” from Once on This Island; Seth Rudetsky; composer Alan Menken, who performed a medley from Little Shop of Horrors; the cast of Stomp; and Edward Watts, who sang “Try to Remember” from The Fantasticks.
