The Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival will present new work at Joe’s Pub as part of the INCOMING! series on August 23 and 24. The initiative was created as an avenue for developing new material by artists looking for a safe, intimate performance space to debut work.
Works will include Obie Award winning actor Edwin Lee Gibson’s Five ‘ Til, about capital punishment (August 23, 9:30pm); Christina Anderson’s Hollow Roots, featuring April Matthis and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, asking if a person of color have a “neutral narrative” (August 24, 7:30pm); and Lilac co in Drusi Is Coming, the latest episode by Lilac co in the Brooklyn-based company’s jinx series continuum, written by Sean Edward Lewis, directed by Colm Dee and Lewis with sound and video by Michael King (August 24, 9:30pm).
