Tony Award winner Chita Rivera and Tony Award-winning composer and producer Andrew Lloyd Webber will receive the 2018 Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre at this year's ceremony, to be held June 10 at Radio City Music Hall.

"The cultural impact that Chita and Andrew have had on the international theatre community and on theatre education, has been immeasurable," said Heather Hitchens, president & CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League. "They are groundbreakers, they are inspirations and we are truly honored to recognize these two incredible legends with the Tony Awards for Lifetime Achievement."

Rivera's Broadway career began when she joined the cast of the original Guys and Dolls as a dancer. She has been nominated for 10 Tony Awards and won Lead Actress in a Musical in 1984 for The Rink and in 1993 for Kiss of the Spider Woman. Other Broadway credits include West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, and Nine. She was last seen on Broadway in 2015 in Kander and Ebb's The Visit.

Lloyd Webber made his Broadway debut in 1971 with Jesus Christ Superstar (recently revived on national television by NBC with John Legend as Jesus). Among his Broadway credits are musical theater mainstays such as Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cats, and Sunset Boulevard. He is currently represented on Broadway by School of Rock and his long-running The Phantom of the Opera. Lloyd Webber is the winner of six additional Tony Awards.
