Celebrity Autobiography will ends its Broadway run at the Shubert Theatre on Sunday, June 21 after 3 previews and 40 performances. The show was originally scheduled to close this fall.

Celebrity Autobiography, developed by Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel, finds a group of celebrities acting out tell-all memoirs. The centerpiece is a reenactment of the love story of Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Reynolds, Eddie Fisher, and Richard Burton, told from all sides using their respective memoirs.

Despite repeat and sold-out runs across the world, the Broadway run was beleaguered with extremely low grosses, even with a rotating cast that included the likes of Kenan Thompson, Rita Wilson, Pamela Adlon, Eric McCormack, Molly Shannon, Tony Shalhoub, Nia Vardalos, and many others.

Our review of the Broadway production was positive, with our critic calling it “more than just a hilarious guilty pleasure.”
